Real Wedding; Jade and Tarnya @ Worrowing
About You Two;
Now, How did you two meet?
A couple of shy kids at high school that became close friends throughout and after school.
Who popped the Question and how did it happen?
Jade did, after multiple failed attempts during our holiday in Fiji and only hours remaining before we flew home he found a nice moment while we were watching a sunset on a beach.
Why did you choose your venue and how was the venue choosing process?
We stumbled across Worrowing while we were in the area looking at other venues. We had no idea how big or incredible the venue was and so glad we added that stop last minute as it was perfect for what we were after. The staff were very welcoming and gave us all the information we needed to get started. We planned our wedding in under 12months once we secured the venue.
Quick Fire Questions;
How many wedding guests did you have?
80
Sit down or Cocktail Style?
Cocktail
What month?
November
Planning The Wedding;
Was planning the wedding stressful or did you enjoy the journey?
A mix of both. I have helped a few close friends with their wedding planning however as we were doing all of ours across the other side of the state it had its challenges. We were lucky enough to have amazing vendors that were fast to reply and a breeze to work with.
How involved were you both in the wedding planning, did one of you take more of the lead on certain aspects than others or were you both equally involved?
We were equally involved and ran all decisions past the other first before going ahead. Not a single argument somehow!
What was the top couple of non-negotiables or important must-have’s at the wedding for you both?
A relaxed vibe for people to feel like they can move around, good food and great music! We wanted a fun night and we got it.
Tell us about your dress and that dress-finding process?
I tried on about 20 dresses of all different shapes, styles and sizes to work out the style that I felt the best in. Once we got the idea we then narrowed down to trying on dresses in that particular style. The dress I ended up picking I altered to make it more me and was the best decision. As beautiful as it already was, changing it up a little made it feel more personal and made for me.
What sort of theme, vibe or style did you go for?
Cocktail vibe with earthy colours for florals. My bridesmaids had different colours and style dresses and I had the florals compliment their colours and decorations worked in with them. The seating area had no set seating, anyone can sit where they like and mingle. We also had outdoor bar tables and the catering was walking around serving food all night.
On the Day;
How did you both feel wedding morning?
Somehow very relaxed. We were feeling very grateful to even be able to pull it off and have all our family and close friends travel for us to share our day. Having a wedding coordinator took a massive load off and she did an amazing job keeping me informed and having the day go smoothly. I didn’t have to worry about anything!
What was the best part or moment of your day?
Walking down the aisle with my dad and seeing my husband’s face light up! Also seeing how happy our parents were was very special.
Anything you would change about your wedding or anything that didn’t go to plan?
The weather! A thunderstorm hit just as the bus was arriving with our guests, we pushed the ceremony back 30mins while everyone was waiting under a verandah. The rain stopped the minute I started walking down the aisle and made the ceremony more memorable however everyone was a little damp and cold. The rest of the night was fine once everyone got a few drinks and started dancing the night away.
Are there any rituals, sentiments or traditions you incorporated into the day?
Besides the ceremony done by our amazing celebrant, it was a very non-traditional wedding. More of a big party with a bit of a metal festival vibe at the end. The dance floor got a bit messy.
After the Wedding;
Describe newlywed life in a couple of words?
For us nothing feels any different. Just a couple of best friends now set for life with each other.
Best investment or money well spent on the wedding that you made?
All the vendors were incredible and made the day work perfectly. Having a coordinator on the day was a massive help.
Budget-over, under or what you estimated?
It was around what I was predicting, but a lot higher than what Jade thought.
